On This Day

Art Cashin, the stock market sage and 50-plus-year veteran of the NYSE published some comments yesterday in his Market Commentary for UBS.

Cashin notes that it was today, 45 years ago, when President Jack Kennedy was assassinated. He relates the many oddities and parallels Kennedy's assassination had with President Lincoln's 98 years before.

There was the odd fact that Kennedy's personal secretary's name was Lincoln, while Lincoln's secretary's name was Kennedy. Both secretaries had pleaded with their bosses not to go to the place where they were shot.

Both Presidents were succeeded by guys named Johnson. Both Johnson's were Southerners and former Senators. Both Johnson's were born 100 years apart. Kennedy and Lincoln were elected 100 years apart. John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald were born 100 years apart. Both Lincoln and Kennedy were shot on a Friday while sitting next to their wives. Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and tried to hide in a warehouse. Oswald shot Kennedy while in a warehouse and tried to hide in a theater.

And on that day, 45 years ago, it had been raining all morning in Dallas. Fearing a bad hair day, the First Lady requested that the limo be outfitted with a bubble. However, when the sun came out late-morning, the Secret Service decided to skip the bubble.

Likewise, Oswald considered dropping his plans the night before, but a buzz-off from the wife sent him back to his plot.

I'd be interested in learning of the circumstances surrounding JKK's work to take back the dollar under government control and away from the private bankers. Or why the secret service called agents off the limo as it entered the "kill zone". Or why the driver paused after the first shot rang out rather than flooring the accelerator. Why the media doesn't engage in debates with qualified opponents to the official version.

Let me know when any of the above happens. I'd be very interested.

As with 9/11 we are being told to believe our corrupt government and not our own eyes.

THINK THINK THINK ... Question everything, especially your government, who should be treated a guilty until proven innocent.
