In the midst of the quiet time re baseball news, before the winter meetings, the Sox have signed Pedroia for six years, as reported by Mazz today. Kudos to the AL MVP.
Will the Sox play it safe and conserve cash for the 2009 season? Will they prudently choose to develop within, and still beat the flailing Yankees, who seem hellbent to spend money like it's still the 2006 Florida condo market? As the Mazz put it, that's a big CC of humility.
