I received an email this past week from Kiva, alerting me to my account balance. With sufficient credit in my account from borrower payments over the past few weeks, I decided to re-loan the credit.
I chose to loan to Esther Abeka, a mother of three who runs a small food market in Ghana. She hopes to use the micro-loan to expand her business, so that she can earn enough money to eventually buy her family a house.
My loan was one of 12 others who fully-funded her $300 request for seven months.
