The Jimmy V Speech

It's Jimmy V week at ESPN, and I've decided to make a contribution to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Here's the emotional speech of Jim Valvano in March of 1993, just weeks before cancer took his life.



I still vividly remember the 1983 NCAA Basketball championship game. My journalism teacher at Lawton High, Sid Hudson, assigned to us for homework a report on the game for his class.

I doubt if I read my report today it would do it justice. It was a great game.
