Smarting a Bit

I attended a lunch presentation today at LaVecchia's hosted by the NC Society of CFAs. My good friend Judson Russell invited me, since the President of the American Gas Association was giving a presentation on the state of North American natural gas market.

I enjoyed the presentation, though it seemed to me to be overly reliant on projections from the Energy Information Agency, which has a dubious track record (who doesn't, right?).

Anyway, after lunch, Judson was kind enough to share some minutes with me discussing the state of Bank of America, where he works as a derivative specialist. While we were talking, a man came up to us on the sidewalk and asked for some money. Before I could respond, Judson shook his head and the man sauntered off. I felt bad. I had just hit the ATM before lunch so that I could fill a parking meter, and I wanted to give him a dollar or two. Instead, I let him get a way. Still smarting a bit here.
